Avocado Ice Cream

Many of our patients are always looking for ways to combat their cravings or to find healthier upgrades to indulgent foods from their past. This week’s recipe will cool you off from the summer heat while also providing a healthy dose of fat.

Course - Dessert

Servings: 4


  • 2-3 ripe medium avocados pitted and flesh removed
  • 1 can (13.5 oz.) full fat coconut milk or coconut cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • stevia to taste
  • pinch of sea salt


  1. Place all ingredients in blender or food processor and puree until smooth.

  2. Transfer to ice cream maker and freeze per manufacturer’s instructions. Enjoy immediately as soft serve or freeze in freezer safe container until desired firmness.

  3. Optional substitutions, add ins, or toppings: cocoa powder, matcha powder, coconut, nuts, mint, chocolate chips, or fruit
